VicUrban appoints Kerr & Co as Lakes Edge sales agent
VicUrban today announced the appointment of Kerr & Co as the exclusive sales agent for at least the first two years of the Lakes Edge residential development.
Civil works will commence onsite in late January and the first public release of Lakes Edge land will occur in February 2009. Lakes Edge signage will commence appearing on and around the site in late December 2008.
Located on the north-eastern side of Lake Hamilton and approximately 28 hectares in size, Lakes Edge will feature public parklands and is set to become the largest current residential development in south west Victoria.
The appointment of one of Hamilton’s most respected real estate agencies means that Lakes Edge buyers will benefit from Kerr & Co’s local knowledge and professionalism.
VicUrban’s Senior Development Manager, Jason Martin, said the appointment of Kerr & Co follows a public tender process.
“Kerr & Co demonstrated it has a very well qualified team that understands the Hamilton housing market,” Mr Martin said.
“Lakes Edge will feature a mix of residential lot sizes to cater for first home buyers, people wanting to upgrade and retirees,” he said.
Lakes Edge homes will set a new benchmark for contemporary style and design, while offering leading sustainability features. Every Lakes Edge home will include a rainwater tank that must be connected to the toilet, laundry and hot water. This means Lakes Edge homes have the potential to use significantly less potable water than existing Hamilton households.
Kerr & Co partner, Jan Franklin, said her team was delighted to be partnering with the State Government’s sustainable land development agency.
“The tendering process was rigorous and we are thrilled that VicUrban has entrusted our well-respected agency with the task of matching buyers with Lakes Edge homes,” Ms Franklin said.
“We believe local home buyers will be very impressed with the quality of homes on offer at Lakes Edge and the foreshore rejuvenation works – this is a new standard of development for Hamilton.
